From Poso
Public transport (bemo or Kijang) runs every day except Sunday. The journey takes about 2 hours. Vehicles travel from Tentena to Poso in the morning and return from Poso around 1pm. Buses also leave Poso bus terminal around 9am or 10am.
A charter car from Poso takes about 1½–2 hours.
From Ampana
Public transport (bemo, minibus or Kijang) runs daily from Ampana to Poso. Change in Poso for transport to Tentena. Leave Ampana in the morning to arrive in time for a connection.
A charter car from Ampana to Tentena takes about 5 hours.
From Palu
Public transport (minibus or Kijang) runs daily from Palu to Tentena, leaving around 10am. The journey takes about 9 hours.
A charter car takes about 7 hours.
From Rantepao
Rappan Maranu and Batutumonga buses run daily from Rantepao to Tentena, leaving at 8am or 9am. The journey takes about 13–15 hours.
A charter car takes about 10–11 hours.
From Makassar
Borlindo buses leave Makassar for Tentena daily around 6pm. The journey takes about 19–20 hours.
Flights from Makassar to Poso are currently unavailable as of September 2026. If flights resume, onward travel would be by taxi from the airport to Tentena, or by public transport via Poso bus station.
